Under the hood of every Equinox is a responsive 1.5L turbo inline-4 that generates 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission featuring overdrive and a manual shifting mode. This combination results in peppy acceleration and an EPA-rated fuel economy of up to 31 MPG highway. An optional engine block heater makes for easier ignition in cold temperatures.
